I was in the avatar arena, last week (week 9 of 2007). Although I wasn't in the top 500, I feel I did pretty well.

7 is above average, so I'm ok with it. I think that the bone dragon items, are what made people vote low. They don't seem to be all that popular. Though I was told that I shouldn't rate low, simply due to my dislike of a certain item (g-blade, cig, etc.), people are going to do it anyway, which in my opinion, is fine. If you don't like an item, that's ok. Rate accordingly and be honest. Just don't give out 1's, simply because you're in the arena, that week.
I just don't get how the top 10, became the top 10.
1: Not too bad, though somewhat simple.
2: This one is rather different. It's alright, but top 10 worthy? I think not.
3: V-day theme'd entry. In my opinion, it's an out of season theme (v-day is over). That's like making an xmas avatar, during the week of halloween.
4: Batman cosplay, but with a paperbag, for a face. Cosplays are just horrible. They aren't original (hence, it's a cosplay) and are done a dozen times a week.
5: Not too bad, though I don't care for the use of the nightmare wings + that hat. I had to look twice, just to see the nightmare wings.
6: This one... just has an amateur-ish feel to it. Bad pants and shirt.
7: If they removed the UFO, with the light, then this one might be better. Then again, they are an alien avatar, which I'm not too found of.
8: Looks like a set, with an alien and one of the celebrity date items (I can't stand the celebrity date items). Sets have never done well, in the avatar arena, so I'm confused to see this one in he top 10.
9: This entry was fine. Great use of colors.
10: Yet another backwards avatar, without the actual avatar shown. Just a dark star and other items. Things like this are seeming to become more and more popular, in the avatar arena and they all pretty much look the same to me. Not much creativity going on with them, in my opinion.
Before anyone thinks it, no, I'm not saying I belong in the top 10. I'm just saying that I saw so many entries that week (I was voting a lot, since I was keeping an eye on my entry) and I saw plenty of avatars that deserved the top 10 spots, instead of a few of these ones.
Hopefully, once I get my new dream avatar and enter it, I'll do better. Then again, my new dream avatar is kind of overdone (black and red, demonic theme).
