The other day, I heard about a couple things going on and I just want to know why people are so stupid.
Muslims in America:
In the work place - I think it's in Minnesota, their are a lot of people of the same belief there (I think muslim). No biggy really. Some got jobs as cashiers at a Target store. Again, no biggy, right? Wrong. They refused to run meat products through their scanners, because of their religion. I wonder if they bothered to think of what products Target sold and that people would want to buy them, before these people applied for the job. So instead of firing the people, which I feel they should, Target agreed to just move those muslims into other departments of the store. Maybe I'll go and grab a job at some place, then refuse to help certain customers for being christians or any other religion, since it's different than how I think. My point is, religion should never have any effect on you, at work.
Laws - In the same area, muslims want their religious laws to be state law. I'm not sure what they are, but a state should never change it's laws, to fit any religion. One of the laws that they want changed, is the legalization of some illegal drug. The drug isn't only illegal here, but also in their own country.
Got shoes?:
Found you! - A company has started making shoes, with GPS chips in them and are recommending parents to buy them, for the kids. I for one, think this is a great thing. If the kids get lost or abducted, they can activate the GPS chip (it's not on, until you turn it on) and a satellite will find you, so police can save you. Such shoes would have been handy, for a boy scout, that got lost on a mountain for days. So why talk about these shoes, in my "Why are people so stupid?" entry? Well, it turns out that their are a group of people who are against the shoes. They say it's an invasion of privacy. I wonder how it can be an invasion of privacy if, for starters, you need to pay extra for the GPS chip. You also need to turn it on, so unless you turn it on, nobody will know where you are. I fail to see how they are an invasion of privacy, since it's optional.
