The rantings of a slightly insane pixie
As the title states, these are the rantings of a slightly insane pixie. Beware dragons, witches, gargoyles, and, of course, look out for those darn fairies! (I should mention that they tend to take the strangest things...)
Return of the Pixie!
Hi heart

So, after a rather long abscence from Gaia, I'm finally back. Yes, I'm still alive and kicking! I'm difficult to kill like that. Go figure.

Student teaching is finally over and done with. All that's really left for me to do is take my certification tests and I'm all done. Which means that now I can kick back and relax a bit. Oh wait...can't...I've got to get my resume out there and look for a teaching job. sweatdrop Ah well, at least things have slowed down a little. No more classes for me! Yay! That makes me very happy, especially since I feel like I've been trapped in graduate school getting my masters for the last 5 years. (and no, it hasn't really been that long, people!)

Life has been far from boring, though, let me tell you! I had a major fiasco with DHL, that's a shipping service for those that didn't know what I was talking about. My parents left their laptop at the resort, and the resort said they'd ship it to us overnight. It was supposed to be guaranteed.

Yeah...right...

Anyways, the butt munchers (and trust me when I say that's a compliment to them) lost the laptop somewhere. They then proceeded to give me the run-around, lied to me, and generally made the entire process of finding the bleeding laptop complete and utter hell for the next three days. On day four, I finally managed to squeeze the number for their unlisted Atlanta Hub (where the tracking information last says it was at) and called them. The lady there was very helpful in telling me they received it only last night and that it was on its way.

It showed up the next day.

Oh, but that's not the end of my rant. Oh no, not by a long shot!

When the DHL truck finally came, I was in the living room, which is right where the front door is. Instead of ringing or knocking on the door and letting me sign for it, they just left it on the front step and drove off as fast as they could (guess they didn't want to deal with verbal abuse from a rather vexated, petite brunette). Thank goodness I was nearby at the time, otherwise that package would have been sitting there for who knows how long before I thought to check for it. And by then, somebody passing by (we live only a few houses away from a highschool) could have just walked up and taken the package!

But, wait, this gets even better!

gonk Yes, I can see your horrified faces right now. You're thinking...how could this get even worse? She has the laptop, right? Problem solved.

Oh no...DHL then had the manly-bits to call me up on the phone, verifying that it was dropped off at the door and...get this...signed for!

Now, I don't know about you guys, but when someone says it was signed for, that means that the individual the package was being sent to actually put their autograph on a piece of paper or an electronic notepad. stare Yeah...needless to say, I wasn't very happy with them. When they got to the point in their little spiel where they thanked me and asked me to use their service again, I hung up.

Perhaps it was a little callous of me to do so to the poor girl on the other end who, most probably, had little to do with the entire mishap, but by this point I was so angry that I had to hang up before I exchanged some not-so-nice words with the person on the other end of the line.

So, to sum up this VERY long rant, never, ever, use DHL shipping services if you wish to avoid what I went through to locate my parents' computer!

DHL, I am sending my virtual ninjas after you.
