Given the huge gap between post dates, I don't really have much to fill in! sweatdrop

I left Southampton for greener (and Frencher xd ) pastures on Sunday, so I'm now back home for the summer. Internet-wise, that isn't such a good thing, because my home PC seriously sucks. It needs replacing as badly as Darth Vader needs a new athsma inhaler.
But on the plus side, I have until October to catch up with friends and spend some quality time with the princess mrgreen

Only trouble is, I now have a shared house back in Southampton that needs to be paid for while I'm away. So I'm going to have to work. Today I finish my first week of (at least) three as a receptionist/office assistant at a boatyard and general engineering company. It's a pretty sweet deal, considering how much actual work I need to do. Operating an extremely quiet switchboard, photocopying and delivering the odd fax, and entering new and completed jobs onto the computer system. I actually do very little at the moment (although I get the sneaking suspicion that there's other things I need to do, but no-one's told me about them yet... ninja )

I asked on my first day, and was told that I'm free to use the internet for anything (except porn obviously, though part of me wonders what I could get away with if no-one was watching and I had a portable storage device handy... ninja ). So I spend most of the day signed in here, waiting impatiently for someone to turn up. But at least that means I don't get bored out of my mind within the first hour, since I can take the morining to catch up with what I missed the night before! blaugh

Only downside is, I'm only guaranteed this job for the next two weeks, since I'm a temorary solution while they replace the previous receptionist. So as usual, I'm being nagged about finding more work. I know I need to get some money, both for rent and spending, but I'm still stuck in the childish mindframe that summer holidays are just that: a holiday, a time for chilling out between terms. Ah well, as long as I can get me some flexible, part-time hours I'm sure I'll be fine 3nodding
