  • Title: Blind Pilot
  • Artist: Kailean
  • Description: More art for the same 'ol magazine. Done in permanent marker, edited in photoshop.

EDIT: Due to puzzled comments, I decided to tell you the story, about a blind pilot flying a star ship. He meets an alien who fixes his eyes so he can see. Pic takes place when he gains sight. Not my type of story, but i was just commissioned for the art.

BTW guys - I wanted this picture in an Americanized comic style, NOT anime. I wanted it to be detailed - I hate to see boring cell shading.

  • I think you have some nice details and qualities about your work. The ship details are what stand out to me. Keep up the good work. Best of luck to you in your comic. If you would ever like more feedback on your work, feel free to PM me. ^_^

  • In the torso you have minimal shading detail. Carefully take into account the lighting of your figure. You have such wonderful shading on the back of the monitors, try to incorporate that into your figure.
For his body, your proportions are off. It may be the angle you are trying to achieve, without the sufficient shading and/or slant of the figure it looks like his body is too short in comparison to his head.

  • Careful in what you say, you may be thinking that more detail makes it more American style (which isn’t always the case) but yet the style of the art still is on the fence. Though his face is looking more like that of American comics... it still has a hint of anime influence: his eyes are slightly too big in the image.
