This is the completed commission of my old family cat, Thorstein Veblen (Thor, for short). My father commissioned it for my mother's birthday a few years ago. The plants in the background are catnip, since Thor loved the stuff. He was put down after two bouts of cancer; he was about 19 yrs old, so this is a memorial portrait. I don't remember the exact dimensions, but the canvas is about 30x24 inches. Oils on stretched linen canvas, (c) 2006 Arran Walker.
