- I get what you're saying, but I've always had a deep love of black and white and I was going more towards making it look like the scribbles of a mad man.

- It would be interesting to see this piece in color. The lines are scratchy and take away from the intended organic flow of the piece. I think you should follow this up with a revised drawing with carefully drawn lines and avoid scratching back and forth with the pen/whatever medium you used. Please color it in! I think it would look beautiful and convey a stronger message.
