  • Title: "Amber Waves of Grain"
  • Artist: Miss Amelia Pond
  • Description: Another entry in my series, "Tales of Nowhere", which focuses on a small town in southern Norway and my observations about it.
While the scene is far from American, there is a certain beauty to it which that l feel is amply described by that line. This was taken on a rare sunny day a few weeks ago, before all of the grain was harvested.

  • The picture seems somewhat unbalanced. You should cut off the lower part of the picture where the shadow is and some of the sky to balance it out. You should move the red house on the right to the left so the viewer can see the whole house.
Overall I think the scenery is pretty good and it looks peaceful.

  • Unfortunately, there was nothing I could do about that shadow. It was taken from the edge of the field, and there were trees behind me. My chances of getting another shot like it get slimmer and slimmer as days grow shorter and sunny days rarer. It was a choice between cropping it into a panoramic shot, and leaving it. Obviously, I opted for the latter.

As for the scenery, it's fairly typical of this part of the country. I absolutely love it here.

  • The colors are gorgeous, so is the scenery. I'm trying to decide about the large shadow at the bottom, I can't decide if it sets the rest of the photo off or if it distracts from it. Anyway, it's very nice.
