- Title: Purple Sunset
- Artist: Solitude of Insomnia
- Description: I took this photo while on a fishing trip with my boyfriend. I know the whole rule of thirds law, and how the horizon shouldn't be in the middle of the photo, but I felt with all that was going on and the border of the clouds and the rocks, it seemed appropriate. I did go into my editing program and slightly enhanced the colors, just to make it look a bit more dramatic. Enjoy!

- I think this is pretty nice compared to most of the sunset pictures I see hovering around gaia. I disagree with Hank on the darkness issue- the black contrasts with the colours and really draws your eyes to them which is a really nice effect. Also I like the shore near the edge as it works as a border/frame in some sense.

This would also be a good time to try taking multiple exposures and combining them later on to create one image. You could take one photo that is exposed properly for the sky, and another that is exposed for the foreground and combine them in post-processing.
Other than that, the composition seems good if you could see the foreground more. It's a beautiful sunset. - Report As Spam

Rule of thirds is not as applicable when shooting landscape photos. There is nothing wrong with having the sun in the center of the frame.
However, your editing could use some work. The photo itself is too dark, and that whole bottom right corner has become dead space. You added too much contrast/saturation in the photo and just made it a little over the top for my taste. I'm not sure what the original photo looked like so I can't really give too much advice on what to change. - Report As Spam
