A million voices, all too loud
A million faces in that crowd
A million hopes, a million tears
A million dreams, a million fears
A million mirrors, all the same
A million people, playing this game
So many people, telling me no
So many people I don't even know
Everyone sees me, but I'm not really there
From the glint in my eyes
To the smell of my hair
I'm just a paper girl
In a paper town
The slightest wind, knocks me to the ground
I can't get up, I can't play this game
People don't see me
They see my name
I'm going to leave this place and never look back
Cover my mirror, so you don't see the cracks
Cut all my strings and let myself go,
Away from these people all telling me no
I saw his body lying dead in the park
And that little light inside me slowly went dark
Your hand as I held it, was warm in mine
Looking back I now see, we had so little time
I walked a road of make-believe
The hair of graves beneath my feet
I sang a song of myself
And and wandered aimlessly
The aspect of my future, was much too frightening
I'm just a paper girl
In a paper town
The slightest wind knocks me to the ground
I can't get up, I can't play this game
People don't see me,
They see my name
A million voices, all too loud
A million faces in the crows
A million hopes, a million tears
A million dreams, a million fears
A million mirrors all the same
A million people playing this game
A million people telling me no
A million people I don't even know
I chose you, and brought you out
I made you so happy, I made you shout
I showed all the people who told me no,
What would happen when they hurt Margo
They slept with the fishes on that one night
And for once in their lives, things weren't quite right
They didn't see it coming
They thought they'd escape
They didn't know you couldn't hide, from Margo the Great
They took me
And played me
And spit me back out
When they betrayed me, I showed them what I'm about
I shattered the mirrors
And blotted their teirs
I ripped out their pages
And cradled their fears
I beat you
Then left you and didn't look back
But as I was leaving, I heard your heart crack
I knew if you found me, you wouldn't let me go,
But I couldn't be one of those people who tell people no
I couldn't stay blind
And I couldn't stay deaf
So when I went, I left you a thread
I never even thought that you'd think I was dead
I wanted you to take what was mine
I never thought that it was me you'd find
I felt like a bird that couldn't land,
Like a fish out of water, when you took my hand
I kissed you,
You begged me,
But I couldn't go back
So instead I just told you to pick up my slack
We sat in the grass, the graves all around us
The mirrors we held, had finally found us
We're just paper people, in a paper world
Just a paper boy, and a paper girl
Our towns our flimsy
Our mirrors are cracked
We all need to leave, and never go back
The wind tumbles around us
And knocks to the ground
The millions of paper cut-outs, of the people we've found

Description:
A poem about the book "Papertowns" by John Green which is amazing and you should read. It's from the point of view of Margo Roth Spiegelman a character in the book.
DFTBA!
nerdfighters FTW!
Basically in Papertowns, John Green's message was that people don't really see other people as people, even though we're all just twisted fun house mirrors of each other. So that's what this poem is kind of about.
