Cliché as a term
very miss represented
so I wear black a lot
it is my favorite shade/color
I may have chains, nets, and collars
but who cares no big deal
that is not real gothic
the essence of gothic
is truly in the soul
the darkest corners of your mind
where all things morbid and dark rest
that is the place where I lay
that is the true essence of gothic
It is not the black clothes
or make-up and accessories
but the dark threads
weaved in your very mind
the total corruption of yourself
the term gothic has adapted
to the new clichés so much over the years
the true meanings have become lost
and listening to everyone
toss around these cliché titles/terms
is so egotistical and conceited
its no longer funny

- Description: Have you ever been called a Goth? Well I have many times and every time I just shake my head and think if only you knew how cliché that term is and what are trying to say with it by stating it.... I have wondered. So one night I decided to write and that term "Goth" stood out in my mind. It is not really a rhythm type of poem, it is more an unspoken thought between people who here the term Goth derived toward them or their friends.
