• Up on the roof top you heard a jolly old laugh,
Down through the chimney as big as a calf.
You rushed from your bed, as quiet as a mouse,
Not wanting to wake, a thing in the house.
You stood and saw him as jolly as can be,
Under the tree, presents as big as me.
You giggled and laughed, what a sight to behold.
You looked around, and saw, not a trace to be told.
I guess that this says, things come and they go,
I heard a voice. “Merry Christmas, and good night. Hohoho!”
And so it is told that he comes each year.
Bringing presents, and good Christmas cheer.
