I answer questions; I answer prayers
But I do not dwell where people stare
I am the shadow of doubt upon a face
And paranoia, my sweet embrace
Dreaded conditions of the blighted I do not fight
No blindness or illness do I make right
Clouded visions and feigned miracles do not prove I exist
Chaos and death to all are what I maintain and insist
No sight to behold, no gargantuan beast
Merely cadavers and what is left of the deceased
A symphony of creation and destruction bellows in my wake
The tearing of flesh the bones that break
Life flourishes around me, but not where I stand
Beauty and abomination, to have both is so grand
I am death’s whisper, the murmur in one’s ear
And the pinpricks that follow, the sign of one’s fear
I am a keeper to the gate
Known to those with sealed fate
