• The cold whiteness
    lying still, dead as cotton
    a sleeping lamb
    by Christ's manger
    soft as marshmellows
    snowflakes frozen
    beaded together
    surrounding us
    like glittering, sparkling
    stars dancing around

    Bitter as arctic wolf
    harsh blizzard
dark snow princess in her fort
    vengeance, revenge, wrath
    ones she loved, so painful
    cutting through the
    windy freezing nights
    so cold and nasty
    freezing the moon
    solid as diamonds

    Winter tiaras
    part of sad snowmen
    goosebumps of pale skin
    wet, cool towel
    against the baby's
    soft, milky skin
    undying fever
    melting in the palm
    nippy, piercing, sharp
    shimmering exposure

    Dangling from
    hanging tightly onto
    wondrous to the eyes
    pointing down to earth
    mother nature
    natural beauty of God
    blessing the gift
    presence of Jesus above
    Star of David
    glistening like icicles

    Imprinted angels
    fluffy wings
    soaring through clouds
    pure white gowns
    gathering before Christmas
    celebrating, rejoicing
    coming of their Saviour
    light glowing among
    the colourless duvets
    tis the season of winter
