- To all who say Jack Nicholson is the better Joker I like to point out that the Tim Burton version he was in was based on comics and cartoons. Heath Ledgers Joker in Christopher Nolans version is based on the Joker in a graphic novel called 'The Killing Joke' and you can't say one is better then the other because their movies are from different eras
