She is said to be the deity that comes and visits you when you are about to die, as described by Satsuki's Mom (Satsuki is the main character) At first the Nurse only appears to Keiichirou (Satsuki's little brother) and seems to haunt him. It is later discovered that the nurse only wanted to give Keiichirou the letter their mother had written to them before she died.
