While the colors don't exactly match the reference, they do get the point across in the best possible way Gaia has to offer, without looking just plain bad, as would happen if one tried to match the colors as opposed to the idea (trust me; I've tried). This both looks like, and captures the feel of the skull kid, which is exactly what a cosplay should do. Anyone can throw on an orange jumpsuit and call themselves Naruto, but if the essence isn't there, no one will believe it.
