Thorin II Oakenshield, son of Thráin, son of Thrór, King Under the Mountain is a major character in the novel The Hobbit, by J. R. R. Tolkien. Thorin leads a company of Dwarves who, along side Bilbo, want to reclaim the treasure guarded by Smaug the dragon. Thorin described as haughty, stern and officious. Although he's shorter than Elves or Man, he is quite tall for a Dwarf.
