The tears and the bride 'sister' play an important role in the scene, she stops and cannot kill Ciel as she sees her sister in her nephew halting her from dealing a killing blow.

Madam Red the aunt of Ciel Phantomhive Name: Angelina Durless
When she was younger she despised the color red and her vibrant red hair color, that was until she met the Earl Phantomhive, and began to fall in love with him after he made a comment about how beautiful her red hair was. However it was not meant to be and the Earl and her beloved sister fell in love instead

She wished them luck and devoted her time to studying medicine, hoping to find a way to help her sister, who suffered from asthma and was typically ill.
She eventually became known as Madam Red as she would typically go to party's and event dressed all in red. Eventually she met and married and became with child. However, during the pregnancy she and her husband was involved in a carriage accident that took her husband's life and cost her the child, and made her unable to bare another.

Her sister comforted her and she began to treat Ciel as the son she never had. However, after the mansion of Phantomhive was attacked and her sister and brother-in-law killed, and Ciel missing, she began to feel lost again and distraught.
With no one to help her with her emotions and encountering women who WANTED and had operations to make them sterile she snapped, becoming Jack the Ripper, a murderer.

After one of her murders she encountered Grell Sutcliff, a shinigami who proceeded to aid the Madam Red in creating alibi's and with her murders.
She was finally caught after her final murder by Ciel, where she tried to kill him as well but couldn't as she saw his mother, her sister, in his face and remembered her feelings of love for her family. Grell proceeded to kill her for her inability to kill and stole her coat and berated her.
