- Title: The Burning Monk
- Artist: phydeoux
- Description: On June 11, 1963, Thich Quang Duc, a Buddhist monk in Vietnam, burned himself to death in the middle of downtown Saigon. He assumed the traditional lotus position as his fellow monks poured gasoline over him. He used a match to ignite himself and burned to death. David Halberstam, a reporter for the New York Times stated that he never moved a muscle, or made a sound as he engulfed himself in flames. Thich Quang Duc's remains were later cremated and legend has it that his heart would not burn.

- That is the saddest, creepiest peaceful protest I've ever seen. The avi really goes with the story.

- I really wish there wasn't such a short character limit on the description, there is so much more to this, I want to be able to at least tell what he was protesting. Anyways thank you all for your votes and your comments!!!
