Wanna know how I got these scars? My father was....a drinker. And a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not. One. Bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. Turns to me and he says "Why so serious?" Comes at me with the knife,"Why so serious?" He sticks the blade in my mouth. "Let’s put a smile on that face!" And..... Why so serious? - Date: 09/28/2008

Originally The Joker wouldn't use a gun, but in the recent movie they attempted to bring him to a more possible light, giving him a common and feared weapon. I believe the gun was seen when The Joker crashed the party, looking for Harvey Dent. Though some of the scars aren't in the right place, I think Kai's done an excellent job with a new take on a popular and ground breaking villain. - Report As Spam

To all those knocking the gun: He has used a gun in every film he has been present in aside from the Adam West continuity. The same can not be said for knives. =/
