Grasping a rose,
Watching the sea,
Quietly waiting,
"Come home to me."
Years pass,
Her hope still strong,
The rose now wilting
Before long.
No sign of him,
Yet still she waits,
Waiting to see
Her lover's face.
Decades pass,
Still she mourns,
A pure devotion
Of which she's sworn.
Tired and weary,
She soon gave way.
Though her body passed,
Her soul remains.
