Gray Jay (perisoreus canadensis) is a species of bird that resides in the Rocky Mountain region of the United States and much of Canada.
It is rather quiet and fluffy, and lives in coniferous forests in small groups.
A rather bold and curious bird, it has been nicknamed many things, the most notable being "camp robber" and "whiskey jack".
Gray Jay calls can either be soft, whistled or husky - weef weef, chef, chef, chef, or wheoo.
