"I wrote this for you," the boy says, a slight smile on his face as he absentmindedly tunes his violin. "I think you'll like it." He pauses, and then lifts the bow, leaving it suspended in the air above the violin.
The empty chair in the corner of the room stares back at him, and he can't help but look away.
“I hope you can hear me, wherever you are,” he whispers softly.
Then he straightens his shoulders, places the bow upon the strings, and begins to play.
