    Chapter 1

The sky was a light pink, to show the day was just beginning. My dad drove me to our new house.
“We’re here, Rhiannon” he explained as we pulled in the driveway of a little two story house. It wasn’t all that big and kind of broken or looked that way. It looked like it originally a dark green, but it was a faded a green with chips of pain missing showing the wooded planks underneath.
“What the heck it is this? This can’t be our house,” I asked in disbelief. Pleas tell me this is some sort of joke, or something. This is a prop for a bad scary movie, I thought as I opened the door of the big red truck and stepped down.
“Come on Rhiannon its not that bad, just wait in till you see the inside it might help” He tried to sway me as he got out of the truck and opened the door to the house.
“Okay let’s see” I gave the house a second chance, but as soon as I walked through the door I still remained right for the most part. The inside was a little better, there was drywall up. And everything looked like it worked. “It’s not a complete waste, but it’s going to use some work, that for sure,” I tried to sound a little more optimistic
“That’s why I got it so we can work on it together, and I also have a surprise for you. It might help” he said as he walked across the room and up the staircase.
I fallowed him up the stairs, only two doors on the finished hall.
“This is your room and this is your bathroom, both are yours and they are completely finished. Well all you have to do is paint them and decorate them.”
“Oh thank you so much, Dad” I said completely ecstatic, as I opened the door to my bed room, and looked in. There were two windows, one is over the bed. The bed is the corned with two sides too the wall, a desk perpendicular from the bed, and a closet with paneled doors on the left wall.
“Do you like it?” he asked a little unsure of what my answer would be.
“Like it? I love it, I love you,” I explained as I walked in and opened the window that wasn’t hovering over the bed.
Out side the window was a loud cracking sound. I jumped and looked out the window again, but all there was, was the tree
“What was that?” I asked shaky “I am going to cheek it out,” and before he rejected that idea I ran past him and out side, he was close behind me. I slowed into a walk and look at the tree out side my window. I studied the fallen branch for a moment, and then a dog wandered into the view. It was white with black spots, with pointed ears and very big. Hum you look like…a…great dane I though.
“Are you okay?” I asked as I walked closer to the dog.
The dog walked closer so I held out my hand. There is no need to bend down the dog’s head was about the height of my hand when held lower. With out hesitation the dog licked my hand silly. I laughed a little and took my hand away, and wiped it off on my jeans.
“Ew,” I laughed “can we keep it?” I asked looking over at my Dad and giving him the biggest puppy eyes I could come up with.
“Um… alright, but you must be completely respo-” I cut him off with a tight hug before he could finish his sentence.
“I will, I will do every thing for it, I promos,” I said as I released my grip on him so he could breath again. The sound of water falling entered my ears, and I turned around and saw the dog peeing on the tree with one leg lifted. I start laughing historically at him.
“Well I know he’s a guy now” I said still laughing.
“Yah, but now he needs a name”
“Your right what should I name him? Never mind I think I should get to know his personality first. Then maybe something will come up.”
“What? It’s a dog, it doesn’t have a personality” He made the word personality mocking when he said it.
“Hump” I said to my dad, and then turned my attention to dog. “Come on boy,” I called as I made my way back to the door. I got to the door and opened it, I tuned around, excepting the dog not to fallow but he did, wow that’s weird he already knows how to come; I should see what other things he can do? I thought as I lead him up to my room. I opened the door for him, and then remembered I have nothing in here.
“Stay here for a minute let me get some things out of the truck” I told him. As I walked out, he got on my bed and watched me. I ran down and grabbed a box form Ryan’s truck, and brought in up into my room. I brought up five boxes, and final deiced that this should do for now.
    Chapter 2

“Okay let’s see what you can do?” I said to the unnamed dog.
His ears perked up, like he could under stand what I said.
    “Down,” I instructed.
He got off my bed and stood looking at me. His face was saying you can’t be serous.
    “Sit.”
    He did.
    “Role over” I asked.
The facial expression he gave me was saying NO.
    “Beg.”
    He barked a little.
    “Play dead.”
Once again I got the NO face
    “Lay.”
    He did.
I sighed. “You’re smart, well I should start unpacking” I explained to him.
I opened a box what the heck, I am going crazy, this dog can’t understand me… I am just… imagining this. I thought as I started hanging up cloths in my closet. After a few minutes I turned to look at him, he was laying on my bed. Again.
A half an hour went by, I finely had a name. It wasn’t a good name but it would work for now, well in till I found another, better name.
“I think I have a name for you,” his ears perked up again with interest “Ken, Ken the dog. I like it, don’t you?” I just asked a dog a question, what the hell am I thinking?
He shook his head and put it down on the bed. Then he closed his eyes, like he was thinking about something. I finished the few boxes filled with cloths, and opened another with sheets in it.
“I know you don’t want to hear this but could you get off the bed fore a moment? I need to put some sheets on it.”
He jumped off the bed, making a thud when he hit the floor, which I thought would break it. I stated to pull on the sheets when I noticed he was helping me put them on. We put my bed together. When it was finished, I laid on my bed putting my feet up on a pillow. This made most of my blood rush to my head. It was like an earthquake when Ken jumped up on the bed. He laid on top of me his head near mine. He was almost as long as me.
“I don’t think you’re a dog, you’re something more, but I don’t know what.” I told him. He leaned in like he was going to lick me, so I turned my face to the side and he licked my neck and half of my face just like my hand. He got off me and looked at my closed door. I got off the bed and stood up.
I sighed “Want me to open it?” I asked.
He nodded once and stepped aside so I could open it. I was more stunned then I should have been, he amazed me once and was bound to do it again. I opened the door and let him out. I fallowed him close behind like he did to me earlier. He stopped at the front door again and I knew he wanted me to open it, so I did. He walked into the forest behind my house and just keep walking, and walking. It seemed like ten, maybe fifteen minuets of walking went by with out a word, just silence. He finally stopped and looked at me.

    Chapter 3

I looked at him back but before I could even blink I had a sharp pain in my back and something hard and cold as ice covering over my mouth so I couldn’t scream for help. I released I was pined up agents a tree; by a boy he looked to be my age or around eighteen and his hand was over my mouth. I tried to wiggle my out of his grip. But he was clearly much stronger then me, I moved him a little but he regained his poison quickly.
He held up his other hand up to his mouth “shh,” he whispered.
I shook me head up and down; the movement was rough and shaky. I was terrified of what would happen. He slowly lifted his hand off my mouth but keep me pined to the tree. I was breathing deep trying to calm myself down, I could feel my heat beating faster, harder, rushing blood through my veins, and before I could speak.
“My name is Josh, not Ken. What kind of name is Ken for a dog anyways?” he paused for a moment “And calm down, pleas. If you know what is best for you.” His voice was slower and more smother on the last part. I did as I was told and calmed down as much as I could, I was in the woods with a stranger that has me pined up to a tree. Then it hit me I am pined up to a tree by my pet dog human thing. What… the … heck…
“Okay I am clam now. Why am I pined up to a tree buy my pet dog that has changed into a human?” I asked him
“Well I am not your pet dog first, you are my pet human. And this is so you don’t run away. I hate hunting my pets,” he explained.
Yes this is perfectly clear…NOT. “Alright well I am not going to run away if you let me go,”
“Alright” He said as he got of me but only by an inch or so. He keeps both of his hands on my shoulders. They where still cold and hard. He walked backwards pulling me with him, to a small patch of grass. He sat down and fell with him.
“Ok and if I am your pet human, then what are you?”
He let go of my shoulders and grabbed my ankle. Wow he really doesn’t want me to run or something I thought as he did this.
“I don’t think I should tell you, not yet anyways. But I can shape shift. And your right, I don’t what you to run away.” He said with a smile
My eyes winded he could tell what I was thinking. I used my hands and tried to pull my self away form him, his hand tighten around my ankle before I could pull away.
“Now, now no running away,” he said teasing in a way.
I looked at him, studding his face. He had black shaggy hair. Witch made his white skin look even more pail, his eyes where a dark brown, with dark eye lashes. He had a smirk with satisfaction across his lips.
“Okay,” I sighed “why were you pretending to be my dog?” I asked him
“I heard some one was moving in the old Smith house and they had a daughter, and I was wondering if it was true, but then the tree broke and I panicked so I changed into a dog and… yah” He explained.
“Ok and-” he cut me off before I could finish my other question.
“I am going to ask some questions first,”
    I nodded waiting for them.
    “What is your full name?”
    “Rhiannon Marie Fay”
“Hum Rhiannon Marie Jones? It’s nice”
“That’s not my last name though,” I pointed out
“I know, its mine” he said
I sighed “Oh come on, I am not marring you, I don’t even know what you are,” I tried to make clear with him.
He thought for a moment, but I couldn’t tell what he was thinking about, I can’t read minds.
“Oh sorry back to the questions,” he apologized
“The only one how will be asking any more questions is me” and unfamiliar voice said from behind me. I turned to see who it was but I didn’t know.
“And what questions will you be asking” Josh asked as he rose to his feet. I did to not knowing what to expect.
“Why are you hanging out with humans, it’s not safe for anyone” he said in a firm voice.
“You know what he is?” I asked him surprised that he did and he just got here.
He looked at me confused, and then Josh. “You haven’t told her yet? Usually your kind would just kill them, what so different about her?”
What?! I thought. The man pulled out a long sword and held it at ready position. Josh steeped forward.
“There is nothing special about this one,” he said, his voice was firm voice. It almost sounded scary the way he said it.
“Okay then prove it… kill her, now” his voice was stable and strong.
But my heart started to beat faster and harder then it had when I was up agents the tree. I didn’t what to die, not now. I turned around and started to run deeper into the forest, my heart beat matching the steeps I took. I had taken ten steeps and it seemed I had hit a brick wall head on. I sighed in pain and looked to see what I hit. A tree. My clumsiness was going to kill me one day and no one could argue with that.
