• Chapter 4

    Nightmare

My sister was standing there, in front of me holding her hand out to me. I couldn’t see her face but I gently reached for her hand then hesitated as I did so. Her hand suddenly started to bleed. Every part of her started bleeding and dripping blood. I ran towards her but she just got farther away.
“Nicky! Wait!” I screamed in horror as I chased after her. Once I yelled for her she stopped moving and I finally got to her. I gently brushed my hand on her cheek. I was to frightened to do anymore. But then I heard a familiar voice calling my name. “Lindsey...,” it called.
I looked for where the voice came from and there he was, standing there. Jordan’s voice was a soft hum to me. “Lindsey,” he said,” Nicky is gone.” Tears filled in my eyes and I turned back to look at Nicky, but in her place was a puddle of blood. I felt Jordan’s cold arms wrap around my waist and he whispered,” Happy birthday Nicky.”
I woke up just then with my hand to my mouth to keep me from screaming. I sighed heavily and thought to myself why was I dreaming about them? Even Jordan was there and I barely knew him. His skin…it was so cold too… and so white. It scared me. I needed to take a shower.
I got into the shower and instead of washing I stood there still stunned. The hot water streamed down my chest and back and the steam made it hard to see. I looked at my hands and the depression washed over me.
“There’s something about Jordan ...” I whispered,” He’s different…” I got out of the shower…got ready for school. I looked for my parents but they were already gone to work. So I cuddled up on the couch and let the tears and sadness take over me. “Why couldn’t I save her…?” I bawled alone, “It’s my fault…it’s my fault that my sisters dead.”
