• It was a dark July night when a new mother had a son. She loved it, but she couldn't afford to take care of it. She made the difficult decision of putting it up for adoption. He went to the adoption center and was taken a year and a half later by two parents. They had three daughters (9, 2, and 5 months) and one son (12). They couldn't really take care of him, and didn't treat him right. He was often left alone in bed, crying to himself. They took him back. Two years later, two people from America came to visit England. The mom was loving. The dad...no. The dad often left the baby on the couch, the baby prone to falling. They took him back. Later on, when he was 5, more people came. They were okay, not great. They sometimes forgot to put him to bed, forcing him to sleep on the ground. Once again, he left the house. They took him into a foster home for nine weeks, then he left. Another family came. He was now 6. They took good care of him, but their dog was agressive and they didn't want to give up the dog. They gave the child away. Once he was nine, another couple came. They were terrible. The father forced him to drink beer, wine, and one time even attempted to poison him with rat poison. The mom was uncaring, leaving the baby in the car, in a shopping cart, in the trunk of a car, and on the kitchen counter. This went on for three years. Now, he is living with an uncaring father who beats him, a mother who doesn't really do anything except sleep, a brother who is a maniac, a sister who has love life problems, and a cat who is evil and attacks everything that moves. Sometimes he wonders if he will go back to the adoption center and spend cold nights in a room with dark clouds of frightening thoughts and interviews with families. Nobody will ever know what it's like to be him.
