• Chapter 1
“Katy, honey. It’s time for you to leave.” Mother calls from down stairs.
“Ok, mother. I’m commin” I scream as I slowly walk down, saying goodbye to the house.
“How long do I have to be gone?” I ask sadly to my father.
“Just one year, Princess” James said, my butler.
Let me clear this up for you. I’m Katy Bran, I’m 16, and I’m being forced to hide away from my family with my butler James.
“James, where are we going?” I ask curiously as I look out the window into the dark streets of Transylvania. We lived in Bran Castle. It is also called Dracula’s castle.
“We shall go to Greenville, South Carolina. It’s in America. None shall look for us there. And, unlike your family, you will be able to fit in there since you can go out into the sun, princess.”
“And are we going now?” I ask, still lookin out the window.
“Yes. Grab your stuff and we shall take our leave.”
I grab my stuff and I take it out to James black converable.
As we pull away from my home, I see my family standing in the doorway. I stair at my mother, Ashley, my father, Clyde, and my young brother, Chris. I think of all the good times we had and I thank about how much I’m gonna miss them. As we go farther and farther away, they started to disappear into the dark, familiar, comforting night. I silently say goodbye right befor they disappear into the night.

James and I pull into our new home in Greenville South Carolina. I glance around, waiting for something to happen. But nothing did happen. I was expecting someone coming up to me and make fun of me cause of my pale completion, my raven black hair, and the way I dressed. But none did. I was really surprised, and kind of disappointed. I was ready to kick some butt!
About 2 hours later, it was 10:00. So I went out. I visited the Woodlawn cemetery. It was vary calming. The way that the wind danced around the tombstones and the way the beautiful stars were spread across the sky like a canvas. It inspired me. So I got out my art supplies and started painting.
I almost finished when I ran out of paint. So I went back home to get more and I started walking back. Befor I knew it, I was on the ground, under a black mersadies.
A young teen, about 17, came out of the car and rushed over to me. He picked me up into his arms and carried me over to his car.
“Are you ok?” He asks. Now I can see him better. He has pale skin, black hair, green eyes, 5’9, very skinny, and he dressed just like me!
“Y-yeah. Thanks.” I sit up “I’m Katy Bran. What’s your name?”
“Slayed Tomson. But my friends call me ‘Reaper’ on the account of my attitude.” He smiles at me with a warm, beautiful grin. “I’m glad you’re ok. But what the heck were you doin out here so late at night?!?!”
“I was painting when I ran out of pain. So I had to go get more. I should probably get back to that.” I say as I get out of his car and start for the cemetery.
“Hey!” he calls to me. I turn to face him. He throws me a piece a paper with numbers on it. “Call me anytime you wanna talk or meet up.” He says.
“Will do, Reaper.” I say as a smile grows on my face. All of a sudden, I feel warm inside and happy. What is this feeling inside of me? And why did this new friend cause it? I don’t know, but I don’t care. I like it.
I start skipping towards the cemetery to finish my painting.

“Hop in.” he says as he opens up the car door.
“Thanks, Reaper. You’re very sweet.” I say.
    “Thanks.” He says.
When I look at him, he is lookin at me with a grin on his face. But when he sees me lookin at him, he blushes and turns away.
