• I sat down at the nearest computer in the library. I logged on before her friend, Lauren, came and sat down at the computer beside the one next to her. Lauren waggled her brows comically at me. I blushed so hard she thought her cheeks would explode. Now, next came my friend, Drake. The thing you need to know is I have a major crush on Drake. He came and sat at the computer next to me.
"Hi, Drake," I said, smiling widely. I finally logged on completely and started the typing program that I was working on. I started her first lesson and flew through it.
"Hi, Ash," Drake said, using his nickname for me as he logged on. After a few more seconds, a confused look crossed his face. "Why isn't this working?" Drake said angrily.
"Are you logged on somewhere else in the school?" Lauren asked, confusion furrowing her brows. She pushed him out of the way and tried to log him on herself, only to be met with a Blue Screen of Death.
I continued on with my lessons but would glance over at Drake every few seconds to find that he would be looking at me, too. I would blush every time and look away.
"So... Hey, I'm going to Iron Man 2 the weekend after this weekend. I'm probably going to bring a few friends along," Drake said, trying to keep pace with my furious typing speed. I laughed loudly when I saw that his average typing speed was five words per minute, compared to my fifty-three.
"Well, I'm going on a two day trip to Salem, Oregon on a photography retreat. I get to learn how to take fantastic pictures," I said with a smug look. In the back of my mind I knew that I would drop everything in an instant to be with him for awhile, but it would hurt my dad beyond the point of healing if I didn't go with him to Salem.
"Damn it!" Drake yelled and looked at me harshly.
I looked at him in shock. "What?! What happened?!" I whispered frantically, looking around the quiet library for some kind of problem.
"I was hoping that you would come with me to a movie that weekend.." Drake said softly. He blushed and refused to talk to me for a few minutes after that.
When I finished with my typing, I have around twenty minutes left in class, so I decided to go to Funbrain.com, for it is the only game site that isn't blocked at my school. I quickly found my favorite game and began to play. It is a game with flying pigs, and I chuckled at the sudden connection I made. You see, a few weeks ago I bought a glass heart necklace that I adore. I wore it to school and Drake asked about it, asked if I had a boyfriend. I had looked at him blankly and then looked to Lauren for help. She glared at Drake and uttered a harsh, "The day either of us get a boyfriend is the day that pigs fly."
I was insulted by her comment, but it was true. Back to my story.

"What are you laughing at?" Drake said, a slow smile creeping across his face.
"You should know, Drake. Lauren told you about it," I said, blushing slightly. Drake looked at my computer screen like it was the first time he'd seen it. Realization finally showed in his eyes after he looked for a few seconds, and he laughed.
"Well, you know... Pigs are flying now, and... Well, never mind," Drake said, trying to hide his embarrassed face.
I looked at him and smiled secretly. "You know, you should come to the 50's dance this year. It would be really fun." I looked at him for a few seconds and went back to my game.
"I'm not even going to ask why you want me to go," Drake said, smiling widely at me. I blushed profusely and didn't say a word after that. Minutes passed and the bell finally rung. I hurried to me damned locker and grabbed my books and papers. Walking slowly down the hall, I found my best friend, Kayla, and started talking about Charlie the Unicorn with her. I barely noticed Drake coming up behind me, offering a quick 'goodbye', and then walking off to the cafeteria to wait for his bus. I ran down the hall towards him and hesitated when I saw the large room full of people. I waited for a few seconds and said my goodbyes to all of my friends and walked towards the front of the building. I could feel Drake's eyes on me as I went, so I located him easily and smiled shyly. He raised his hand in farewell and smiled back. I ran out to my car and went home, and now I'm here, typing and thinking about everything that happened today.
