Rabe slowly dawdled over the rocky surface to the edge of the cliff. She squatted down and as she took out her pen and notepad from her pocket she caught a glimpse of a grayish tube-like object plummeting towards the treacherous lake. She raised an eyebrow and peered down at the rocky, dull lake.
“Oh” She said simply and turned around and rolled her eyes.
Rabe mashed her lips together and tied her white hair in a ponytail with a limp, black rubber band and fastened her goggles before jumping of the edge and plunging into the dark, muddy lake after her duffle bag.
Her foot was the first to reach the freezing water. Rabe gasped at the shocking temperature. When she was completely submerged underwater, she decided to take a look at the Repulsive– Erm, queer lake. She saw many objects that looked like they belong in a trash compacter instead of a body of water, like a green Cola soda can and a bundle of yellow straws. Obviously disgusted, Rabe glided up. When her head broke the surface she noticed that the water tasted bitter and metallic on her tongue. She combed a hand through her knotted hair and picked at the clumps of clay and pieces of soggy construction paper matted in her curly locks and scanned the surface of water for her bag.
