Summer
Slowly - now seeming to take forever,
It knows it is the best time of the year.
Wishing now I could just pull a lever,
Then all of a sudden it would be here.
The birds will be outside chirping away;
The trees and flowers will all be blooming.
Oh come now - I can’t wait another day;
Nor the cats, who want to be out grooming.
The pool, at first, will be really cold;
Filled with all kinds of junk from leaves to hairs.
Green from all the algae - sometimes with mold;
But once it’s warm and ready, no one cares.
Filled with life, summer is the best season.
So much to do, so many good reasons.

- I like it! I've never done a sonnet, but I like the rhyme of it.
