• Reflections Of A Day

    Enjoying the solitude
Bare toes immersed in warm sand
She sits with her face to the ocean
Her favorite book in her hand

    Protecting it from the wind
Her damp hair in one french braid
The sun beginning to shine down
As the fog is trying to fade

    She’s dressed in various layers
Which she removes throughout the day
The waves both invigorate and relax her
    Helping her pain go away

    She thinks about everything
And tries to let it all go
    With each wave crashing
Feels the strength in her grow

No longer able to resist the sea
She removes her jeans and goes in
Slightly shaking as she does so
But her face is in a wide grin

She goes in up to her waist
    And begins to softly sing
    At the moment not worrying
    About anyone or anything

She lays on the quiet beach
    Slowly warming with the sun
    She’s had a great day
    Many experiences rolled into one

It’s time to leave her paradise now
    Wishing she could forever stay
    But she smiles to herself
Knowing she can return any day
