I feel the wind blow through my hair
The view from the roof is spectacular
People stroll beneath me as they travel to their destinations
None bother to look up at the clear sky
What is it like
to be stuck on the ground?
Unable to feel weightless
as you dive through the moist clouds?
Do they feel gravity weighing them down?
Is that why they so often stumble and fall?
Do they feel the need to fly?
Is that the reason they look to the stars?
Are they lost?
Or do they simply choose to wander about
trusting their own two feet to guide them?
I don’t understand
I stretch my wings
Enjoying the feel of the air move through the white feathers
I look once more to those who walk on the ground
I can’t help but wonder
Can they be taught
to see the world as the angels see it?
To reach beyond the stars
without fear of gravity pulling them back down?
Patience, a voice whispers to me
They can be taught
All they have to do
Is listen
