• Two pairs of matching eyes

looked up to the clear blue sky

    There two majestic birds

    there they did fly

    They were locked in battle

and as they continued their fight

    The twins watched on

    each in a different light

    The first stared in disapproval

and could see the bitter pain

No matter how hard she looked

    there was no possible gain

    From the bloody battle

where only one could win the round

    While the other

a still form on the ground

    The second did not reject

the notion of battle as much as she

For in the violent, chaotic fight

there was grace and order to see

They were territorial birds after all –

    their instinct was to fight

It was meant to be –

nature created them for this plight

    Their matching eyes met

but their thoughts could not converge

    And from this moment on

    two separate perspectives would emerge

Their eyes matched but were reversed

green to red and red to green

    And in this crucial change

    the difference could be seen
