The evil queen would be jealous at
the rich, red apples.
Such a captivating color, seducing
High in the tree’s spread out arms,
the rich, red apples.
Reach as one might, but thine hands cannot
Even reach those shiny green leaves and
the rich, red apples.
Bark so darken by age, scraping against my arms.
Never will ye reach
the rich, red apples.
Rich, red apples, you mock me so.
