Hushed eyes; small smile; cautioned ears
Hiding the pain within the heart
Following the broken dreams only out of fear
Watching closely as lives fall apart

The quiet eyes filled with involuntary cries
The emotionless eyes help hide the sadness
Allowing to see past the substantial lies
Staring into the man-made mess

The false smile shows a small sign of bliss
Keeping the sadness from curious eyes
With very few words, so there's nothing to miss
Never revealing the secrets behind the sighs

The ears stay alert from all sounds, all around
Listening to all the fights
Staying cautious of the horrible sounds
Never getting off guard even by night
