Forest
The peaceful world within a world,
The oasis in the maddening desert
That life can sometimes turn into.
Beams of light
Piercing through the ceiling
Of the treetops above
Creating a magical scene.
The trees
Silent sentinels swaying serenely,
Clad in full armor
They creak and knock together
As if momentarily battling,
But they soon settle.
Vestiges of all creatures
Remain
Here in this untouched realm.
I only wish
the hectic world could slow down
And take time to admire this sanctuary.
The elder of this village
A tremendously tall tree
Towers over the rest
Reaching to the sky,
Reaching to take the sun,
Reaching to grasp hold
Of all that the world can offer.
Such wisdom flows
Through the veins of this king
Growing in solitude
witnessing the crafting of history.
Dare I speak the secrets
Of this forgotten world?
If not, then the forest will
Wait
For the next explorer
To stray into its embrace.
- Title: Forest
- Artist: True Sora
- Description: I wrote this poem for school about two years ago, but I recently rediscovered it and revised it a bit. I realize it may not flow as well as it could because my writing wasn't the best then, but for the sake of keeping the original idea behind it, I didn't adjust it that much. Tell me what you think.
