• I wake up on a cool spring day
    And thrust open my window
    To reveal what's outside
I shiver as the cool air
Swirrls in gusts through my room
    Peering to the ground
    I see a robin
    Hopping in the grass
    She sticks her beak
    Into the soil
    And plucks her breakfast up
    A small worm
    Dangling from her beak
    It wrigles and twists
    Trying to get free
But the bird is to strong
And she snaps the worm in half
    And eats him up
    Why is life like that?
Why is it that the weaker one's
Are always the 1st to die?
Why must we rate each other
    And compare weaknesses
    And strengths?
    Yes the bird must eat
    But that is for survival
    Other times it's for laughs
    Or for personal gain somehow
    To rate each other
Is to put people in catogories
    And compare
Why can't we all be equal?
    Why can't we live life
With the same oppurtunities as others?
    Must we always be judged
    On the way we look?
Or the way we act and say things?
Can't we be unique in our own ways
    And live life in harmony?
    Or must we always critsize
And point out the differences in each other?
    There will be times
When we are the Bird and the Worm
When we have to fght for survival
But there will also be times
When we have to act like a team
    And all become one
    But dividing people into groups
    Takes away the unity
    And it will prevent us
    From winning the game
    Called Life
