• A single light stays on
    Father cries
    Letter in hand
    It begins

    A single tear
    Rolls of his cheek
    Down to his feet
    Eyes filled with fear

    Bullets blaze
    Bombs explode
    He’s amazed
    Who would have known?

    Hide in the trees
    As a mother weeps
Holding each other in their arms
Praying he is safe from harm

While in his, he holds a gun
    As he starts to run
    Fire here and there
    Missiles falling from the air

    A steak in his heart
    A bullet in his son’s
    Worlds apart
    They are both done

    Father holds mother
    Trying to stop her crying
    Soldier holds son
    Trying to stop his dying

    But now it’s too late
    All hope is lost
    They set a date
    To burry this cross

    Now back to the room
    With a father’s misery
His son will be home soon
    Back from the army

    During a rainstorm
    He comes in uniform
    But all is gloom
As he comes in a tomb

    A flag
    Lays on his casket
    Symbolizes to his dad
    How his suffering was dramatic

No father should have to burry a son
Yet the battle is not won
    So go out and fight
    Ye soldiers of the light

Do not let his death be in vain
    And know just one thing
    He was an honorable son
And his father’s battle has just begun
