This is not a love song.
This isn't candy rain and lollipops
Of spinning on the rooftops
Of splashing into sunshine because you're in love.
This is not a love song.
This is not about love lost.
Of shambling steps in eternal mourning,
Of rain forever, incessant, pouring
Because you're 16 and Fall Out Boy broke up.
This is not about love lost.
This is not about glorified suicide.
About your "crimson" blood from a slit wrist
(How many times have we HEARD this?!)
Streaking over your soul-less faces.
Please be more original about ultimate end.
This is not about glorified suicide.
This IS a wake-up call.
This is me putting my foot down,
To take a breath, to look around
And see what little REAL poetry is intact these days.
This IS a wake-up call.

- Title: This is not a love song.
- Artist: Guild Timekeeper
- Description: I'm sick and tired of seeing all of these sappy poems about love and suicide and heartache and whatnot. Whatever happened to original material? And whatever happened to sucking it up and being tougher than a cream puff? So here's my two cents.
