• The sun is up,
    The day is new,
    I wake from a night,
    of dreaming about you.

    As I leave the house,
    to go to school,
    I gaze at my reflection,
    In the neighbors pool.

    A glare at my shadow,
As I glide down the street,
And listen to the slap of pavement,
    Under my feet.

    I turn the corner,
    And see the school grounds,
    I slow my breath,
and take in all the sounds.

    When the bell rings,
    Unbearably loud,
    I trudge to class,
With the rest of the crowd.

    I grab my books,
    And slide to class,
    I look at you,
    Through the tinted hall glass.

    In English,
    As I read my book,
    I see you giving me,
    Your "hello" look.

    Then we hear a noise,
    And the lights go out,
    Everybody screams,
    And starts to shout.

    Then I hear the sound,
    Of a guns high blare,
    I hear you take,
    Your last gasp for air.

    One week later,
    In the park I say,
    "Why couldn't it have me,
    That died that day."

    Yeah I saw you through,
    The tinted glass,
    Said I loved you,
    And went to class.

    I looked at you,
    Then the lights went out,
    Remembering this,
    I scream and shout!

    I turn the corner,
    And see the school grounds,
    Thats when I remember,
    Those horrible sounds.

I promised I'd meet you in heaven,
    Before you died,
    You fell lifeless,
    And I just cried.
