Red is the blood that was shed for our crumbling nation
Orange is the sunset that fell on too many dead soldiers
Yellow is the sun that beat down on weary, marching men
Green is the grass that now rises over the graves of fallen soldiers
Blue is the courage displayed for both sides
Purple is the honor for battle survivors of these terrible times
Black is the cannons that roared over all
White is the new nation, clean and pure

- Title: The Colors of War
- Artist: Andromeda Zreng
- Description: I wrote this back in the eighth grade after we learned about the Civil War. Surprisingly, I still kind of like it (yes, I know it puts war in a shiny light, but that's how I wrote it).
