-
My heart called to you today,
And though I tried to quiet it,
It spoke so loudly, and to my dismay,
Right there, it had a fit.
I spoke to it somewhat coldly,
“Now listen, don’t you start!
When you thump out so boldly,
You end up breaking apart!”
My heart, oh how it saw you,
Your sweet, sweet nature and grace,
And in my heart, I wish I knew,
Just where you should be placed.
And then, as you came towards me,
My heart began to float,
And then, as if a little bee,
It got caught in my throat!
I tried to say the words I seek,
My heart knew there weren’t true.
And so it would not let me speak,
‘Til I said, “I love you.”
And so, without another word,
So quickly, I must say,
I ran away, my vision blurred.
My heart began to fray.
And so began the series,
My worn and tattered heart
So many, many queries,
When would it depart?
And leave me, fending for myself,
It knew I would not live,
For I seldom got up off the shelf
Soon it would forgive.

- You did a very good job! I love how the title can be taken two different ways. You have a way with words. 5/5
