A man teeters at the edge of a skyscraper
a woman takes out more pills that should be taken,
a man readies a noose,
and a woman steadies a gun to her head,

none believing that they will die,
all thinking that they will live to see another sun rise
to do what they've been taught-
to finish what they've started

a jump,
a swallow,
a hanging,
and a pull of a trigger,

at the moment before theyre gone,
do they see,
that they won't be waking up,
that this isn't just a dream,
that it is their own personal ending.

But in a way the meaning of it always reamins the same.
