• In the quiet corner,
    all by her lone,
no one heard the soft sobbing,
as her tears led her home.

    She was always this sad,
    those kids would never know,
    how much she really suffered,
    in her room all alone.

    Then one day,
    not by chance,
    she ran into him,
    and they shared a glance.

    His eyes sparkled,
    looking almost through her,
    to him she was beautiful,
    more than a loser.

    That was the last time,
    until Christmas Eve,
    that they had met,
    hard to believe.

    And on that one night,
    nine hours past noon,
    they stood together,
    alone in her room.

    Three words exchanged,
    two embraces shared,
    each one telling the other,
    they would always care.

    The clock struck twelve,
    as her heart rang out,
    "I love you so much,
    don't leave me now."

    A laugh left his lips,
"Don't be stupid I'd never leave,
    your mine, always and forever,
    your my baby."

For once in her life she cried,
    not for her sorrow,
    not for her loss,
but for the muscle in her chest,
    no longer hollow.
