Why is it Wrong?

It's a hard life, but this one's to all of the people out there who find themselves hopelessly in love with someone of the same sex. We can't help who we love, so why are we persecuted?

Why do people judge us
Why do people care
What have we done wrong
To make them stop and stare?

What can we ever do
To earn just one small smile
I’d pay the biggest price
I’d walk a thousand miles.

I look at her
She looks at me
They look at us
They won’t let us be.

I see her eyes
I hold her hand
They look down upon us
We’re just grains of sand.

I can’t help but love her
She’s something I need
She’s a vital part of me
Just like the air I breathe

Why can’t they understand us
Why is it so wrong?
Why do they stand against us?
Together we’ll be strong.
