• Day has been defeated, the Night has won
The clouds fade to violet gray as the sun is pulled under
Breath of the north shrouds weeping stars in veils
Light vanishes and colors draw shadowed blinds upon themselves
Shuddering night air strikes my raised body
Wailing branches, dying thoughts draw dry scarlet rivers across my skin
Screaming winds fight over my raven locks
Leaves tainted by the withering touch of death clamber for my dripping tears
The cries increase, sounding an arrival
    “You do not belong here”
Gems of ruby flare and smolder
His prideful velvet voice, like a sword slicing through the shrieking of the corrupt
    “Where do I belong then?”
My choking whisper, hopelessly beating at the tearing winds
Soulless eyes staring at his eerily beautiful face
“In the world of happiness, love, and light”
He steps closer with each word, eyes compelling me to listen
My sobs break the stillness that has been wrought
“I cannot, I do not belong there, it was not my place to be”
Resent filled drops race down my face, the burning cheeks, the parted lips
“Try once more, you have hope…try once more, for me”
Silence binds me to the earth as his icy lips leave my own numbed ones
Flicker of my eyes, they burn
    With hope
The sun has shattered the claws of the dragon of Night
    Day has returned
To enter the battlefield once again, crown of hope adorning his royal brow
