-
A blackened heart, beaten down,
a rose's petals all tattered.
A face condemned to wear a frown,
a life of dreams all shattered.
A breath strangled, voice silent,
all innocence lost in a world violent.
A flickering light fights the storm,
frailest beacon, holds all my hope.
A taste gone dull, eaten by worms,
rotting life, at the end of a rope.
Justice vindicated by killing another,
religion has killed another brother.
A mocking smile to hide a lie,
welcoming arms draw them in.
By blade of my knife murders die,
in the morning I go hunting again.
Heaven forsook me long ago,
but can Hell hold me, do you know?
