• I should have told you before,
    How much I loved you.
Now.. Let me tell others the score.
On why you were there for me and everyone.

    You went to the war,
    You returned without a scare.
    But way before,
You had the feeling of your legs.

    You went searching for gold,
Only to come back with a few specks here and there.
You went back twice as bold.
Only to come back with fools gold.

You went golfing in the rain,
    Pouring down on your face.
Not not once have I found a sprain.
    Nor even a bad temper.

    You went fishing and camping.
You went gold panning and golfing.
You went to play with me instead of hunting.
You did a lot more activities, but most including being
    Who you were.

    Well..It comes time for everyone,
To feel the pain of death and loss.
    But there was one,
    Who took it the hardest.

    Grandma.
She looks for something to fill the hole,
    That you took with you.
Down into the six and a half foot hole.

    She was always strong.
Between a rok and a hard place.
When the counted the tears she was rung,
    75 for your completed age.

    75 to 52,
I couldn't believe how hard life was.
For those who have grown up around you two.
    But..

Two years, I have known you in memory.
I met you both when I was young,
But that was way before I could walk down the Lane of Memory.

I must end this before I lose sight,
    For tears have already fallen,
    Into a figure eight.

You were my friend, grandpa, joker, Gambler..
I could never find one so funny, so wise, or so playful,
As the time when I first played poker.
But that is a different story all in its own.

To my grandpa and family who I have been parted from.
    Stay strong until we return.
