• Hope

Hope came knocking on my door today.

    Planted herself in my heart,

While spinning her web of dreams into my soul.

Hope stays with me like a guardian angel.

    All seeing,

    All hearing,

    Always spinning her web.

    She wears a silk gown,

It changes colors in the light,

    Never settling on just one.

    She’s always been with me.

Even though I didn’t know it.

    Just lurking outside.

    Hope sees things differently.

Like that blue bird singing a lovely tune.

It’s her personal musician sent by someone.

She says everything happens for a reason.

Just like you falling off your bike.

    Now you have a memory.

    She’s taught me to dream,

Her silk gown billowing through me,

Moving in rhythm with my heart.

Her bright red, unruly hair wiping in and out of my head,

Telling me stories of life and love.

    Tales worthy of Shakespeare.

    She is brave and kind.

    Loyal and true.

Like a dog that you never forget.

    She’s my best friend,

    My diary,

    She’s me.
